Daredevil: Live Action Suits Throughout The Years

There is EVIL out there. Time to get some work done.Check out Daredevil’s live action Suits Evolution

If you see those horns in shadows lurking, then you know, you are in big trouble and will be hospitalized.

Took a long time to recognise Daredevil as a character rather than identifying as poor Spider-Man. Thanks to Frank Miller, DD found his infrastructure and become the iconic character as we know it.

So today, I am going to cover each suit’s feature and design from Ben Affleck to Charlie Cox. So let us begin

ben affleck daredevil
Ben Affleck as Daredevil

This costume is much more leather looking like. Something a biker wears or it sometimes look like a spandex. It also has holster for his Billy Clubs which is disguised as cane which he(Matt Murdock) uses for walking. The suit is very much functional and realistic at times of 2000-2005s. This suit is more like crimson platish than red. The insignia of DD is placed at right side of chest, kind of very subtle.

This mask has red lense, whenever the lighting is right, you can see the POV of blind man, especially if lighting set in right situation. Although meant for gymnastic purpose, but it does look like it can be easily fit into the person who has more than 5 feet.

There are some of the concept arts for the suit which were made by Manser. I feel these are the better versions than final product which got. They feel more darker for the movie.

Home Made Suit

This suit is just seen at one scene on the episode 10 AKA Nelson V Murdock of Season 1. This suit is just plain Blue Sweatshirt and looks somewhat like Pyjamas. Eyes are covered in blindfold style. Hands are covered with hand wraps which are mainly used for boxing. This suit is somewhat similar to Battle Damaged Variant excpet it is not fully Black Ninja Suit.

daredevil-1
Black Ninja Suit

This suit is heavily inspired by classic design by Frank Miller in early days of Daredevil comics “The Man Without Fear” and in the same case of MCU/Netflix TV show where he started before and after the events of “The Avengers: Battle For New York”.

This suit has nothing much more to offer as he said in the show he ordered from online along with black pants and mask. Mask is pretty much similar to the comics. He got batons from his mentor Stick. It is perfect for practical sports and military wear. The only difference are shoes, they are black in live action just like every other MCU heroes get except Captain America. In comics, they are white sports shoes. In some cases, Muay Thai ropes has been used in Season 1 Episode 2 and then used in the last episodes of Season 3.(See the Image Below)

Devil Of Hell’s Kitchen Suit 1

This Suit has been created by Melvin Potter so that he could take less damage from his enemies. The Red Part if you see, it can deflect a knife depending on the angle and black part would give him from most protection from punches, kicks and other alternatives. Those Black Pattern you can see all over his costume and even his back, has some black patterns(See The Video Below).

It is somewhat similar to Secret War Costume but little tactical and more of an armor based. If you see his right leg, it has pockets where he keeps his batons but unlike comics it does not have rope like feature, but it can combine into one club.Yes it has red eye suit in the helmet but it just looks like for the showcase and nothing else. But this suit wouldn’t last until starting few episodes where Punisher has been guest starred and he cracked his helmet pretty hard.

daredevil-season-2-trialer-2
Devil of Hell’s Kitchen Suit 2 in Season 2,Defenders and Season 3

This Suit is almost perfect. Although the same suit, but helmet has been changed and also improved on those red eyes. Now he looks like “Devil Of Hell’s Kitchen”. Even now the suit has complete protection from almost everything. Light material but durable.

Potter also incorporated a new carbon nanotube-based alloy which he said and I quote “near indestructible” into a new helmet that included red lenses in the eye holes. He also added advanced alloy gauntlets to the suit’s gloves as a bonus. Now instead of Batons, he got billy clubs which he can swing around almost like Spider-Man.

Honorable Mention
But this suit now has been used by Ben Poindexter AKA Dex or commonly known as Bullseye just like in the comics where he donned the costumes of Daredevil and Hawkeye.

If Daredevil was ever into MCU movie, pretty sure these costumes would work very well. One of the costumes had DD insignia. Looks very awesome.Made by Josh Nizzi.

Punisher: Live Action Suits Throughout The Years

Since the Punisher’s first appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man #129 from 1974, Francis Castiligone AKA Frank Castle is pretty much the same. He’s as tough as we speak, vigilante waging a one-man war on crime in order to get revenge for the murder of his family. Let us see the list of Live Action suits.

Since the Punisher’s first appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man #129 from 1974, Francis Castiglione AKA Frank Castle is pretty much the same. He’s as tough as we speak, vigilante waging a one-man war on crime in order to get revenge for the murder of his family. Sometimes I just believe, he takes his family name to murder people who aren’t capable of change. He rose in popularity from the mid-80s to the mid-90s. For some people, it is very good.

But he has only message to bad guys out there

Those who do evil to others, the killers, rapists, psychos, sadists..you will come to know him well.Frank Castle is dead, call him The Punisher.

Frank Castle is an honest ex-Marine who has lot of respect for Captain America and James Rhodes AKA War Machine.

Fun Fact: Now Punisher is a War Machine since Rhodey AKA James Rhodes died at the hands of Thanos thanks to Captain Marvel. But today we are here to celebrate Frank Castle’s Live Appearance in Movies & TV Shows.

Let us see the list of Live Action suits.

the-punisher-thomas-jane
Thomas Jane from Punisher (2004)

This Punisher is almost accurate to comic series and people loved it. It could have improved on action series. Origins was bloody violent but after that violence was little let down. It is as memorable as Tobey Maguire playing Spider-Man.It is the people’s second choice to play as Punisher.

Film costume borrows from Garth Ennis run on Punisher comics. Instead of sweat shirt, they gone with T-Shirt and Leather Jacket. The Leather Jacket is somewhat similar to what Keanu Reeves wore on The Matrix. He didn’t even used much weapons except Shotgun,Arrows,Mine Bombs.

He only wear this during Climax Scene. After that POOF.

warzone
Ray Stevenson in Punisher War Zone (2008)

A slight better looking Punisher than Thomas Jane. The costume more looks like body armor. It is something a war of soldier wears. Almost a realistic body armor, if I say so for myself. Not only do that, he has the experience of Marines. That guy can kill anyone in seconds. He was at war with crimes not with himself.

It has neck guard as well and he carries way more weapons like every kinds of pistols, even with silencers , revolvers, rifles ,pocket knifes, flares, grenade launchers. This guy had it all. Finally a good Punisher suit but too bad film was forgotten as it was solely focused on violence and crude language.

Jon Bernthal as MCU’s Punisher in Daredevil Season 2 (2016-Present)

After two bad attempts at film, Netflix and MCU(Marvel Cinematic Universe) swooped in and saved the day with this new suit. Granted that he did not get until Season 2 of Final Episode in Daredevil end.He was a killer in this both literally and figuratively. In this suit, he is somewhat wearing the armor once he killed Schoonover and got access to weapons closet, he designed and painted iconic white skull on black armor except he has big black coat in it, but rest of it is same.

102_crime_111_unit_03324r
Jon Bernthal as MCU’s Punisher in Punisher (2017-Present)

This suit is very similar to it just removed the black coat but with more ammo pouches and also keeping small weaponrys for stealth attempt. He sports the signature death’s head logo much like modern comics which is like basically a source of this skull’s roots and has loads of ammo pouches. Even though he is short but very much bulky.Just like previous film Punisher War Zone, he is wearing a Kevlar armor to protect himself from bullets as his previous experience. It is very much realistic depiction of his suits from comics. This suit is perfect amount of practicals with theatrics. In Season 2, we hope we get to see this suit more as they promised they would show he is adopting the mantle of Punisher, hope they keep up the promise. Even if it means cancellation of the series just like other MCU Netflix TV Shows.

But here are some unused costumes which were made but never implemented.

So this is it, all the costume evolution of Punisher in Live Action. Let me know in the comments which one you like it most. I am going to do this a lot in Marvel Street Fighters.

Taskmaster

Well, we all have been in a case where someone copies something off the others. Whether it is a business ideas or a child copying at exam center or anything else. At second Point, I did not do it, but someone did do it. But have you ever heard about person who can copy your moves?

Imagine you are doing training for like years or decades? Imagine if some one just did the same moves which you did , that person also did, just in minutes? Thought is cool and all, but also it makes the blood boil of that person. So today, I am going to speak about another Anti Hero who is known as Tony Masters AKA Taskmaster.

So let us begin without further ado

Who is Taskmaster?

Tony Masters was a SHIELD Agent who was sent out for a mission to retrieve super soldier serum(same serum which happened in Project Rebirth AKA Birth of Captain America AKA Weapon 1 Programme). Once he found those serum, he used that serum on himself which gained him photographic reflexes. But even before his SHIELD days and his teenage days, he had that talent to perfectly mimic the crazy rope tricks on a cowboy program that he used to watch. That is how he gained Photographic memory. Now for example, if he sees a physical skill performed just one time, he’s able to reproduce it perfectly and sometimes better than that person. Now, Tony is the smart sort of young man that learned how to use his skills for his own personal gain. The most cool example was when he was in High School, he watched a pro quarterback play, mimicked his moves and became his team’s all-star.

Once High School ended, he wanted to be a costumed hero, but he sees there is no point in becoming a hero. So he took the path of a criminal as he think it would be a lucrative career. He got various action movie DVDs and he used to watch those for hours to make an entry for his moves list. Then comes the Taskmaster.

He made a lot of money robbing banks and targeting high profile. He got little afraid of such lifestyle, so he decided to call it quits. Are you with me? Here comes the main point which you were looking for.

Taskmaster Academy

Ever want to join a criminal organisation or an underground criminal empire or want to create your own? This guy is your key to success. But success does come with money, like a lot of money. Like you will go broke kind of money. It did work in his favor and set up training schools all around the world and also manage to keep punching bags of various heroes he had encountered(See Below).

If you want to hire him, you can, but if the opponent gives him more money, then good luck. He just goes whoever has the highest bidder

Abilities

He doesn’t have much ability to work on. He can copy your moves in seconds and use it on you. But he did create gadgets to counter attack some of the heroes power like Cap’s Shield, Spider-Man’s Web, Hawekeye’s aim. But he copied many people moves just by watching them.Creepy don’t you think? Not only that he is an expert marksmanship, peak physical conditioning, master martial artist, tactician and a weapon masters obviously.

Using Skills

Personal life

When he uses those talents, he removes a part of his memory for skill sets. So the longer he does it, the more problem of memory loss happens. It’s gotten to the point where he has a personal assistant that handles all of his “memories” for him. His mimicking has also affected his arsenal. He doesn’t even remember that he has a family. Here is an example

Costumes

When he first debuted in this comic “The Avengers#195” costume was ridiculous, he looks so cheesy regardless he was made during 80s, but still.

Udon Comics

But since 2000s, he got an upgrade which actually looks awesome and every part of his costume defines Taskmaster. Cannot get my eyes off of him. He is perfect.

Copy Cat

Well as I mentioned, he copied many of his enemies move and it kind of helped him many times, but sometimes it does not. As Enemies use a different approach sometime. You would be shocked by this list.I would add image of movie actors who portrayed these heroes and rest would be from comic book for easy understanding.

Ant-Man (Scott Lang)

Cannot Mimic

In this case, there are only few persons whom he cannot copy and for each character he has specific reasons.

Wade Wilson AKA Deadpool

Deadpool comes in the list because Tasky tried copying his moves, but when the fight comes he couldn’t counterattack his moves because he(Deadpool) himself doesn’t know what the hell he is going to do next.

So he kind of given up. But since last year of comic Deapool vs Punisher, he simply not to copy instead he just mixes them up For example Punisher. Gotta use your brains sometimes until Punisher came in the scene and you know punched him hard. But hey it proves he just has to mix up rather than copying.

Moon_Knight.jpg
Marc Spector AKA Moon Knight

The only reason he doesn’t copy moves because Moon Knight who would rather take a punch than block it, so Taskmaster has stated he would rather not copy his fighting style.

Training
When he opened up an academy, he trained few people who turned out to be ruthless villains such as Crossbones,Red Skull, Sinthea Schmidt,Bushmaster, few A.I.M and Hydra Villains and many more who wants to take on Avengers,X-Men,Spider-Man, Inhumans etc etc….

Weapons Systems
Well as I said he cannot copy super powers so he created numerous amount of gadgets. Taskmaster used a number of weapons, often determined by the abilities he was using. – Known weapons include:

Energy Shield, Energy Claws (like Wolverine’s)

Energy Webbing (like Spider-Man’s)

Katana

Bow & Arrows (sometimes using “trick” arrows like Hawkeye)

Sword

Broadsword

Pair of .45s

Rope

Round Steel Shield (like Captain America’s)

Moon Shaped Shuriken (like Moon Knight)

Multipurpose Billy Club (like Daredevil).

He has also been shown sticking to walls suggesting that he has special gloves and perhaps boots which can approximate Spider-Man’s wall-crawling ability

Strength Level

The Taskmaster possessed the normal human strength of a man of his age, height, and build who engages in intensive regular exercise. The Taskmaster was strong enough to lift at least twice his body-weight, meaning he was able to lift at least 440 lbs. However, he can extend his strength of lifting 800 lbs, which makes him stronger than normal humans

Weakness

He cannot copy super powers as he is just a human, but with enough gadgets and all, he might come close, but yeah that is it.

MCU(Marvel Cinematic Universe)

Now we haven’t seen any appearance of Live Action version of Taskmaster. But yes he exists in that universe. Wondering what he is doing? Below is the answer.Imagine you are him and studying all of these moves.

That is a lot of data, don’t you think.Imagine the actor studying all of this. He would be so powerful in hand to hand combats and almost unstoppable.

1269511_1060190420689707_6721872976883140339_o.jpg
Pretty Much Accurate

I guess this is it, let me know how would you like to see Taskmaster on MCU? In Tv or Movies? Or Have you ever met who is like him? Let me know in the comments.

Moon Knight

So, I have been talking about few Marvel street heroes nowadays. But I always wanted to talk about this one person who is neither a hero nor a villain. No, not talking about Punisher at all. Something worse than Punisher, Elektra or Deadpool. The Guy I am talking about is Moon Knight. Now you are wondering who the hell he is?

So let us begin, shall we?

Well many people believe that he is like Batman or rip off, I would say nonsense to this. Stop comparing every hero to Batman. GUY ONLY HAVE MONEY which also is similar to other identity of Moon Knight. Not exactly. There is already a Batman Rip Off in MU.

I won’t give you origins and all, because every site has been giving the same, I would say some pretty facts about him so that you can get the idea and why this idea would actually look good on TV Screen or Movie.

Started out as Bad Guy

He was actually villain in Werewolf by Night #32, his only goal was to try and kill the Werewolf, who is the main star of the respective comic. Until he got his own comic, Moon Knight was an anti-hero , and we get to know more about his past as it was fleshed out, the more readers got a real sense about who Marc Spector(that is his real name)was. Still most of his friends have a hard time rationalizing Moon Knight, considering him too brutal and edgy to be a part of their club.

Serves Moon Egyptian God

He worships Khonshu, the Egyptian god of the moon. After Marc got killed by Bushwacker in Egypt, his body was brought into a pyramid where it was laid under a statue of Khonshu. Somehow, through divine intervention, Spector was brought back to life. Since then, he spent the rest of his days serving his lord, fighting in the name of said deity, and doing his best to protect those who travel at night. He got some few powers as well.

Multiple Personalities

Marc Spector is not the only one who takes this role. There is also Steven Grant who is a billionaire and Jake Lockley, the taxi driver. Best Part is these persons don’t exist at all. It’s what Marc has created these personalities to keep a tabs on crime as Jake Lockely and Steven Grant just to distance himself from Marc Spector’s bloody past.

But these are not the only identities he has. He took his Avengers personalities as well such as Captain America, Wolverine, Spider-Man, Iron Man, and Echo — who would “advise” him on his heroics. He even used facsimiles of their signature weapons in battle. Pretty much worse case of Personality Disorder right? Hope no one has to face all these. With taking all of personalities, he do get crazy a lot. LIKE A LOT.

Multiple Breakdowns

As mentioned above point, taking anyone’s personality is sure to make you crazy. But it all depends on the writer. But yes in reality, you would kill yourself.

Martial Arts Training

Well as someone who is a mercenary, you expect that person to know martial arts. After taking the persona of Moon Knight, he learned a lot. His career took him from the Marines to the CIA, which is where he met Jean-Paul “Frenchie” Duchamp. He teamed up with Duchamp when he became a mercenary, and the elder man’s loyalty continued into Spector’s superhero career. His military time added expertise in Judo, Kung Fu, and Savate which is actually known as French kickboxing, which is equal to Olympian-level gymnastics. He’s gained a knowledge of how to damage the human body to the point that he can take down an enemy with a single blow to a nerve cluster. So he is not to be taken lightly at all.

Not to forget, when in case of weaponry, from pistols to machine guns and sniper rifles, he can even wield the heavy duty stuff like grenade launchers and bazookas. He’s also highly proficient with swords, knives, bows, chains, and much more. Bottom line: if it can be used as a weapon, Moon Knight knows how to use it with tremendous mastery. He’s also an expert pilot, and has skills in deduction and interrogation. So you can say, he is not afraid to spill some blood of every scum bag. He is not afraid to get dirty, doesn’t even care that he has to better as long as the job gets done.

High Tech Gear

Well he is rich, thanks to his persona of Steven Grant who can afford some good weaponry like Moon Copter,

Grappling Hook,Crescent Darts. Gosh I love the Crescent Darts, they are so effective.

Marc_Spector_(Earth-12041)_from_Marvel's_Avengers_Assemble_Season_4_17_003

He also used a moon-themed motorcycle and limousine.

Wearing White

He likes to wear white for one simple reason-He wants his enemies to see him coming. So he does not prefer stealth like Spider-Man or Daredevil. He wants his enemies to fear him.

Powers

Just because he dresses white and have cool weaponry and gadgets, doesn’t mean he don’t have powers. Let me talk about his powers. He can lift around two tons. His strength varies depending on the phase of the moon and the added strength makes him extra durable.

Additionally, he has a low-level healing factor, similar to Iron Fist; he’s able to manipulate his chi so he can heal faster. Along with his already impressive fighting skills, Marc has a ridiculous tolerance to pain, as seen when he won a fight immediately after the villain Midnight had rammed his hand into Marc’s back and messed with his bones. Additionally, he’s immune to telepathic assaults.

Avengers Membership

Marc Spector joined the West Coast Avengers at the behest of Khonshu, serving alongside the likes of Hawkeye, Mockingbird, Wonder Man, and others. Spector got swept up in an adventure where the West Coast Avengers were transported back in time to ancient Egypt, and had to find a way home. He stayed with the team for two years.

Not only that, when MU(Marvel Universe) got upside down and crazy, Steve Rogers was given Nick Fury’s job people called him Commander Steve Rogers. Cap created a new team of Avengers called “Secret Avengers” which as name suggests focusing on covert ops. But this didn’t last after that he gone his own way. Then again, he joined Avengers to help the Pheonix Force who wreaked havoc by using X-Men’s bodies and Namor.

Punishment for Worse Criminals

You think Punisher does worst to his criminals? Nope this guy tops it.In a way, that no one can thinks about it. He got so much of sick of serial rapists, child abusers, and their ilk, Spector leaped over the edge in taking the law into his own hands, meting out punishment as he saw fit. His punishment? Carving his crescent moon symbol into the foreheads of the guilty. Not only did he peel away a moon-shaped piece of their flesh, he did it more than once if the criminal was a repeat offender.

Another fact you want to hear? When a sad and cry baby criminal complains to the police about MK having dug a chunk out of his head, the detective investigating MK’s work shows him photos of others the vigilante has doled out similar punishment to. And to the criminal’s shock, some of the photos show men with as many as three or four moons cut into their heads. ooof that’s going to leave a mark.

Cut Off Face

Once upon a time in comic,Moon Knight #2 As Bushman advanced for the kill, Moon Knight tossed a crescent dart, which sunk into Bushman’s neck. After Bushman fell, Spector climbed on top of him and produced another razor-sharp dart. Bushman’s supervillain mask was a visage of a face that had had its skin removed but then it come to realisation that it was just a mask. Moon Knight made it permanent by cutting Bushman’s actual face off. Gosh Calm Down.

Current Run

Now there is a new event in MU. Where people of two different heroes combine together and make one hero itself. Not that much great, but their looks are awesome. I knew Spider-Man and Moon Knight will come together and see this is the result.

His name is Arachknight. Don’t know much about the story how it happens. But my favorite getting this kind of fusion, I kind of liked it.

Fun Fact
In Ultimate Spider-Man, Peter Parker(Spider-Man) called him a loonie. I can understand why. But Moon Knight likes the Spider-Man when he get the menace tag.

James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy) wanted to work on a Moon Knight film, but now there is no hope as he got fired.

Hope you like these facts about him. Now all of these facts, do you think a TV Show would be suitable or Movie? Let me know in the comments. Hope you like the character now, if you don’t let me know.

Shadowland: What You Should Know

Shadowland is a 2010 Marvel Comic Book Event which lasted for four months which centers around and stars Daredevil and other “street-level” heroes in the Marvel Universe.

So after reading Shadow land series, I actually felt in awe with one of my favorite super hero Daredevil. His conflicts and his morals are his part of his catholic life. I feel people hated this for no reason, I think many of you should give this a second chance. So let’s not waste time as I give you few reasons, why you should read Shadow land

What is Shadowland?
Shadowland is a 2010 Marvel Comic Book Event which lasted for four months which centers around and stars Daredevil and other “street-level” heroes in the Marvel Universe.

1. Isolation

In this series, Daredevil takes over the Hand and avoiding contact with this fellow super hero friends and even getting himself fired from Nelson & Murdock Law Firm.

2. Hand’s Purpose

Even after getting warning from his friends that Hand Ninjas can corrupt even the most noble persons as well -especially from those where they’re magical mind-controlling ninjas and all. Daredevil’s mission in taking over has been to lead them away from the whole assassination for hire bit.

3.Dark Reign

If you have read this comic, then you should know that Former Green Goblin Norman Osborn started a new organisation known as H.A.M.M.E.R under which he appointed Hawkeye’s skill alike named as Bullseye (famous villain of Daredevil and Elektra) . Just like every crime lord Norman Osborn decided to kill two birds with one stone or rather in simple way to say explosion by sending Bullseye to kill Daredevil.

Bullseye rigged the building with explosives and lured Daredevil there for a fight, and while Daredevil survived, he now has to live with the fact that 107 people were killed by a man that he allowed to live, for no other reason than to mess with him.

This was the point where Daredevil mission with the hand and taking over Hell’s Kitchen for himself.

Once he became he returned the favor to Bullseye in his own way which he never expected.

4. Used Building for Temple

The Hand has acquired the site of the apartment building Bullseye blew up, land is now building Shadowland, a new headquarters for their New York operations. Solicitations have referred to it as a “temple,” but it’s safe to assume that it’s also going to contain a dungeon to hold the prisoners that Daredevil took during his war on H.A.M.M.E.R

4. Army of Ninjas

He once tried to take over Hell’s Kitchen by himself but in this series, he has his own army now which helps him out.

5. Hand’s Own Plans

Poor Man Without Fear has no idea that trusting a villain group is not that easy and never should be done without a proper check. They have their own plan for shadowland which poor DD is not even aware of. Including her friend White Tiger and Black Trantula(Not his friend)

6. Fight Between to Save Daredevil

What happens when you get enough power to rule an area? You became insane crime lord who kills for small reason, you must ask why is he being the Punisher? The Answer is some one has taken over. Keep scrolling below who has taken him. And it is up to his friends who will save him before it is too late.

His Powers and Insanity gone way too much, he called himself

Yeah, that. He called himself the Beast. So yeah that is much I can give rest you have to read, it is really an underrated series.

It is not just a cosmic warlord or anything. It is the battle for the soul of a hero begins! Pushed beyond his limits. Spider-Man, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Punisher and other street heroes join forces to stop a war that is breaking out throughout New York, with Daredevil at the center. This event will change the streets of New York City–and the heroes that protect it–forever.

Let me know in the comments section, what do you feel about it?
